PROMOTIONAL / MARKETING CONTENT:

A majority of the content I produce for my clients are advertisements that help sell their product, service or image. Like most of my work, I set out to create a blueprint that revolves around important bits of dialogue that helps generate the narrative that I'm looking to convey to the audience. I then build around these key narrative bits with exciting pieces of footage that both raises the entertainment value and enhances the message of the video. Afterwards, I'll add a backing soundtrack that helps set the mood and tone that I'm looking for. The final touches I make in the post-production process revolves around color grading, sound effects, and adding motion graphic titles. Once everything is in place, I'll watch the final video over multiple times and ensure that the narrative works, and that the message I was trying to convey worked effectively. I will then send the video over to my client to ensure they're 100% satisfied with the final product. If there's a minor edit or change they'd like corrected, I'll fix it immediately.

MOVIE TRAILERS:

Some of the other content I enjoy producing are film/tv trailers for clients. I start by breaking the content down to its most important narrative bits – the pieces that bear the greatest importance, and helps tell the story with the most limited and exciting bits of dialogue. Once I have all of that lined up, I search for an epic soundtrack that helps set the tone for the video. At this point, I begin placing my narrative bits into the editing timeline alongside the soundtrack. I then begin searching for scenes that help compliment the compressed story and dialogue that I've selected. These scenes are normally meant to add a more dramatic and epic feel to the story. The last step for me, is layering in sound effects and visual effects that help heighten the excitement and entertainment levels.

FILM REVIEWS:

I also enjoy putting together reviews of films, where I generate a script that breaks the film down into several categories that I rate individually (see my blueprint below).

1.) Story

2.) Screenplay

3.) Tone

4.) Characters

5.) Acting

6.) Pacing

7.) Soundtrack

Once I have reviewed each individual category, I began to piece them all together into one final script, so that the review has a strong sense of cohesion and fluidity to it. I then set up my camera and film myself, reading from my script, which is directly off to the side of the camera lens. After I'm done taping myself, I accompany the review with intriguing b-roll and photos from the film's production. Later on, I'll add a backing soundtrack, as well as sound effects/special effects to help bolster the entertainment value behind the review.
